The need to keep his wife of many years company, made him decline the offer of a job he would have loved. He had been headhunted, told that his uprightness was the pull. Days after he was given the additional opportunity to nominate other qualified candidates – if he could guarantee their integrity, he acknowledged his inability to find one. Some of those he knew, had the educational qualification, but he couldn’t vouch for what they would do when they encounter real opportunity in a higher office.
