It was the longest season of his life, with his principal ensuring that the switch he was passionate about, never happened. The influential who tried to intervene, drew a blank. But the successor who was propped up by the same man, effected the change not long after assuming office. As he reflected on his status years later, with the highest possible position now within reach, he could only thank God who turned his pain to pleasure.
